8th Cim – Yimao – of the Water Element favoring Winter – The North is blessed

The rice will bear its grains,

The success a result of harmony,

So to home we go to sit relaxed,

While our wives and children celebrate.



Intepretation:

A bountiful harvest is certain for the year as the rice matures. Hardwork will be richly recompensed. These two are related. The toilers were pleased with such harvests, happily celebrating and dancing with their wives and children at home. This poem foretells happiness and fortune. Labors invested in the past will be rewarded today. How else could anyone reap the harvests without toiling back then?

Recipients of these cim would first endure bitterness followed by fortune, reverses followed by prosperity.

If asking for marriages – lovers will eventually be united.

For business undertakings – invest and work in stable industries, do not make risky investments, for that will end in failure.

For fame – hopeful in Autumn; if Winter then wait untilt he next year, but do remember to improve yourself.

Farming will have good harvests at the 2nd half of the year. Construction is neither favored nor discouraged. Burials and graves will have good fortune in the afterlife. Fishing will be favorable.
