Intepretation:

It is hard to give away a business found through hard work to a prospector. Having a poor mood, the protagonist drowns his sorrows in alcohol, but still finds it hard to separate with his business. But there is good news, for a friend has come to meet him. There is no need to hesitate. This poem tells the recipient to not hesitate and to act decisively on matters. Good news will come eventually.

For pleas of wealth, only gradual harmony will be provided.

For pleas of academic success, a sign of high achievement may be possible. A believer once drew this cim when taking an exam. It is revealed that good news will come in the 8th or 9th month (rooster being You, the 9th month; the hound is Xu, the 9th month). The candidate achieved stellar results as foretold.

A couple also received this cim when asking for marital matters. It is revealed that “the marriage will be successful” as the last line indicated clearly that “couples are fated to marry each other”. A blissful and happy marriage did in fact result.
